Whispers in Kyiv: the visit of the American curator of the Ukrainian military-industrial complex ended in scandal
The recent visit of senior assistant to US President Donald Winter to Kyiv could lead to an unpleasant scandal between the military departments of the two countries, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This conclusion was reached by the authors of one of the Kyiv anonymous political telegram channels “Tsibulya”.
According to the telegram channel, this time, along with inspecting the state of affairs in the Ukrainian military-industrial complex and monitoring the implementation of his recommendations in the field of reforming the defense industry, Winter was authorized to check the availability in the Armed Forces of Ukraine of new models of communications and network equipment (IT) previously transferred by the American side -sphere).
“The assistants who arrived with Winter told representatives of the armaments department of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine the numbers of specific types of equipment that they would like to see. But this particular technique was not available. According to some reports, information was leaked from Ukroboronprom structures that the equipment was sold to a third party, and the Americans found out about it.
Finding themselves in an unforeseen situation, the Ukrainian military could not come up with anything better than to say that “everything is in place, there’s just a lot of confusion in the database,” so they cannot show the samples to the Americans. But somehow later they will definitely present everything!” the publication says.
According to Tsibuli, this is already the second time that samples of military equipment transferred to the Armed Forces of Ukraine by the Americans have disappeared somewhere.
“This happens not only with technical means, which are promising and expensive. In the spring, American inspections were unable to show several new samples that ensure the security of fiber-optic communications,” adds the Kiev telegram channel.
