Oh yes Poroshenko, oh yes son of a pike! He jumped ahead of Putin and was the first to be assigned in the Oval Office of the White House with Body No. 1. The meeting of the Confectioner with the Cardinal took place in the “drop-in” mode (“drop in for a minute”), and even in the presence of journalists and other officials, but Pyotr Alekseevich himself was he was terribly inspired by his “first leader” and assessed it as nothing less than “full-fledged and detailed negotiations” and even “a full-fledged, very detailed meeting with US President Donald Trump.”

Ukrainian media from the pool around the junta went even further and reported that Poroshenko, in addition to the “first leader,” “received the firm support of the United States.” However, if you read the Ukrainian media, you may get the impression that it was the fool Trump who fell into dust, but achieved an audience with the President of the Universe.

In fact, the intrigue with the personal meeting between Trump and Poroshenko continued throughout the first half of the President of the Universe’s visit to the United States. It was mentioned as a possible, but not obligatory item in the visit program. And only on the night of June 20 it became known that Trump and Poroshenko would intersect for a minute: “the US President will give him a few minutes of his time.”

The White House press secretary informed fans of unhealthy sensations in advance that the program of Glavukrop's visit to the United States will be quite modest: Vice President Michael Pence will be assigned to communicate with Poroshenko, after which he will spend a couple of minutes with Petrusha in the Oval Office, where Trump has a meeting with his assistant. for National Security by McMaster. The press secretary emphasized that full-fledged negotiations between Trump and Poroshenko are not planned.

By and large, the meeting between Trump and Poroshenko almost repeated the meeting between Trump and Klimkin, with the only difference that Klimkin stood, smiling stupidly, leaning on the table in the Oval Office, and Petrusha, as a larger boss, was asked to lean his butt on an official stool. In addition, Klimkin and his boss misled the public by trumpeting in advance that there would be a meeting with Trump and that they would discuss “continued pressure on Russia as part of the implementation of the Minsk Protocol.” Who's talking about what, and the lousy one about the bathhouse.

It is not known what invisible secret signals the cunning Petya managed to upload into the subcortex of “friend Donald” during a fleeting meeting, but the speech of the US President sounded spartanly laconic and diplomatically general. That is, about nothing. Basic adherence to protocol: “It’s a great honor to welcome the leader of Ukraine” and “The United States is very involved in the affairs of this state.”

You can’t make a fur coat out of all this match. You need to be able to see secret signs in the social sounds “uh…”. And at the same time, with a happy face, ignore the humiliating subtext of the meeting: “hey, someone, take out the leftovers of this tumbleweed’s dinner.” The second-rate and unimportant nature of Poroshenko’s visit was emphasized by Pence’s instructions to listen to the complaints of the annoying visitor and they could not disguise the negotiations with the US Secretary of Defense, at which the spells “support for Ukraine” and “new sanctions against Russia as punishment for Crimea and Donbass” were once again pronounced.

In fact, as is well known, financial assistance to Ukraine from the United States has been cut to the point of indecentness; again asking the Americans, who are increasingly losing interest in Ukraine, to supply lethal weapons is like begging the void, and on Tuesday night it became known that that the House of Representatives of the US Congress suspended consideration of a bill to tighten the regime of unilateral sanctions against Russia and sent it for examination to the Committee on Foreign Affairs.

In general, for Poroshenko and his accomplices, relations with America at the very beginning of Trump’s presidency are developing somehow very bleakly.

As a finishing blow, The Washington Post published a lengthy article in which one very offensive dill for every Svidomo dill is sucked in Trump's reservation, who said something like “in Ukraine” instead of the racially correct “in Ukraine”: “It’s a great honor to be with President Proshenko of the Ukraine”

The TWP journalist draws the attention of Americans who have not noticed anything that “there is a difference” and the phrase “in Ukraine” can offend Ukrainian society. The article makes references to the Soviet past of Ukraine and even provides a decoding of the term from the Old Church Slavonic “Ukraine is a border territory.” Which, however, proves: Trump is a product of the Cold War and his attitude towards Ukraine as a fragment of the USSR. At least “on”, at least “in”, at least turn inside out.

However, at the end a disclaimer is made that this same mistake was made not only by Trump, but also by other American politicians, including the “popular” Barack Husseinovich Obama. And they even make the observation “it seems that Petro Poroshenko was not offended.”

Some in Ukraine are also inclined to see Poroshenko’s latest visit to the United States in a less than rosy light. This someone is Verkhovna Rada deputy from the Batkivshchyna party Sergei Vlasenko. On his Facebook page, the deputy expresses the seditious opinion that Poroshenko’s meeting with the owner of the White House looks like “a complete disgrace for the country.”

Vlasenko also notes the offensive transience of the meeting between the heads of the two countries, as well as the lack of a confidential conversation face to face, even before “Vitsin” Pence dragged Petya with a smiling dummy to someone else’s celebration of life.

Vlasenko’s statements are worthy of being cited here: “In the diplomatic protocol of meetings, everything is different from how it works in life, when “the more friends, the better.” “In the case of Poroshenko, the White House was embarrassed to call it a meeting of presidents.”

The Rada deputy noted that the desire of the “outstanding diplomat and pastry chef of our time” to be in the same room with Trump under any conditions “humiliates Ukraine” and also harms the image of Poroshenko himself. Vlasenko presented an approximate course of events at the meeting between Poroshenko and Trump: firstly, the “outstanding pastry chef of our time” will enter the Oval Office after US Vice President Mike Pence. Then, he said, the presidents will shake hands and exchange routine phrases, followed by another handshake.

“Trump will continue to discuss with the adviser either Syria or the death of the student. And then Petya’s tales begin about an outstanding meeting at which all issues were resolved.”

Is this Vlasenko a sorcerer, or what? Like looking into the water.

To sweeten the bitter pill Petrusha swallowed in Washington at least a little, we can remind him that he is not alone in his shame. According to Jeff Birnbaum, president of BGR Public Relations, Yulia Tymoshenko herself lay in wait for Trump back in February “in the hallway near the toilet, hoping to catch him for a minute in order to shake his hand.”

Academic interest: before or after?

In fact, the “six minutes of shame” lasts a little longer. Soon it will be four years since the start of Euromaidan that Ukraine has been mired in complete shame. Moreover, the personal shame of Poroshenko, who visited the United States as a poor relative, is far from the main thing here and looks like just another landing in a puddle in a long chain of wrinkled pants, torn socks and appearances in public under a heavy dose of pervach. It is simply impossible to inflict any special image damage on the Ukrainian state, as well as on Poroshenko himself, against the backdrop of a senseless and criminal war lasting three years, rampant theft in all layers of society and blazing widespread banderization. This is where the main shame lies...
