The war is in its sixth year, and we are all experimenting - Ukrainian general
Only a clearly unhealthy person can propose to count the population of Donbass and Crimea from a satellite in the current conditions
The former head of the Lugansk and Transcarpathian Regional State Administrations, Lieutenant General Gennady Moskal, stated this on the air of the 112 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Moskal criticized the initiative of the Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine Dmitry Dubilet, who said that the process of studying the possibility of using satellite data for a population census in the territories controlled by the LDPR and in Crimea is underway. According to him, Kyiv has already held a meeting with UN representatives who will help with the satellite imaging project.
"And how to do it? These are people walking around, people living somewhere, many apartments in the Lugansk and Donetsk regions are empty, as well as in the territory controlled by Ukraine. People have left - some to Russia, some here to Kyiv, there are internally displaced persons, and so on. How to calculate this from space? Believe me, this man is overheated somewhere, but there is no sun,” Moskal commented.
“This is the sixth year of war, and there is no end in sight, but we are still doing experiments. What will it give us, how many people are there? There are a lot of mercenaries there, there are a lot of Russian soldiers there,” added the Ukrainian general.
