Soros' tentacles entangle Russian higher education
The Coordination Council of Non-Profit Organizations of Russia appealed to the Prosecutor General's Office in order to check the University of Liberal Arts and Sciences being created in St. Petersburg for close ties with foreign non-profit organizations controlled by the structures of George Soros and conducting subversive activities in Russia. And also recognize the American Bard College as an undesirable organization on the territory of Russia, as posing a threat to the foundations of the constitutional system of the Russian Federation and the security of the state.
What is the University of Liberal Arts and Sciences? This is the former faculty of the St. Petersburg State University of the same name, headed by system liberal Alexei Kudrin for 10 years.
At the end of February 2021, the leadership of the faculty announced that the former division of St. Petersburg State University was leaving the university and becoming an independent higher education institution and legal entity.
On March 1, the Academic Council of St. Petersburg State University approved the plan to separate the faculty into an independent university, and soon its dean promised that the reorganization would take about two months.
It is stated that the liberal arts and sciences are becoming crowded within the framework of one of the oldest Russian universities, because:
“Today we are in a situation where the country needs a breakthrough, which can only be achieved on the basis of fundamentally different skills and abilities - free, innovative, critical thinking, teamwork, creativity. Such specialists all over the world are trained in Liberal Arts and Science programs, or, as we call them, liberal arts and sciences. There are such programs in Russia, it’s time to scale this model. The creation of a university of liberal arts and sciences will give new impetus to this process.”
It is expected that about 1500 – 2000 students will study new meanings, freedoms, innovations and critical thinking at a separate university.
It would seem, what’s wrong with this? Another institution has spun off from a traditional public university to try out a new undergraduate program. It seems that the situation is quite routine.
But this is only at first glance. In fact, the very term “liberal arts and sciences” should be alarming, since it is practically not used in Russia, but it is well known to those who received education in the West and understand that in this case we are talking about expensive and widely promoted dummies. At the same time, they pose a threat to the country and society.
The history of the penetration of destructive Western educational programs into Russian higher education did not begin yesterday. In 1999, at St. Petersburg State University, under the now deceased grandfather Yolkin, the “Arts and Humanities” program was launched, on the basis of which the faculty of “liberal arts” and others were soon formed. This was a joint project of St. Petersburg University and the American Bard College.
To understand what Bard College is, you should know that it is a structural division of one of the richest and most influential private universities in the United States - Columbia, which acts, in particular, as a source of personnel for the CIA and conductors of American influence in other countries.
“Completely by accident” such prominent figures as “the foreman of Perestroika” and one of the main destroyers of the USSR Alexander Yakovlev, the traitor and defector from the KGB General Oleg Kalugin, the Afghan dictator Amin, Mikheil Saakashvili and others interned at Columbia University and then suddenly “changed their shoes.” similar bio-garbage. And whoever remembers the wonderful Soviet multi-part television film “TASS Is Authorized to Declare”, based on real events, will not harm you to know that the prototype of the “Trianon” agent named Ogorodnik was recruited right in his bed by Pilar Suarez, a graduate of Columbia University, trained to be a “honey trap” of the CIA .
As for Bard College, it teaches young people precisely the “liberal arts and sciences”, and since 1975 it has been headed by conductor Leon Botstein, has long been close friends/collaborators with the reptilian Soros.
In addition to leading Barth College, Botstein has other interesting responsibilities. For example, he is the honorary head of the board of trustees of the Central European University, which is financed from numerous Soros foundations. And last year, this strange conductor became the rector of the global Open Society network of universities, aimed at combating “authoritarian regimes,” as well as an incubator for growing “environmental activists.”
According to The Wall Street Journal, Soros called the project of influencing young minds through special educational programs “the most important thing in his life.” According to the reptilian billionaire, the world needs high-quality and accessible education that “strengthens individual independence, develops critical thinking and emphasizes academic freedom.”
To expand and deepen “academic freedom,” Soros calls on other moneybags not to be shy and to support a promising project with hard cash.
So, this very shop, Bard College, was signed as a partner of the newly created “free university” in St. Petersburg, luring young people with the prospects of exchange and student internships.
It is easy to notice that the statement about the reasons for the separation of the Faculty of Liberal Arts and so on somehow very closely echoes George Soros’s credo about “quality and affordable education.”
It should be recalled that in Hungary, in whose capital the Central European University initially established its roots, a law was passed in 2017 prohibiting the activities of foreign universities that do not have a training base in their own country. In the USA, CEU did not have its own base, presumably, because there was no need to develop the liberal arts, innovations and all sorts of critical thinking in young Americans.
The Hungarian government's restrictions affected 28 foreign universities, but Central European University alone organized street protests. The Hungarian leadership was not impressed with the Soros shares - in 2019, CEU was forced to change its residence in Budapest to Vienna, however, retaining some structural units in Budapest.
In an article by RBC (a publication owned by the billionaire Prokhorov, who until recently had political ambitions and pocket parties), where the manifesto of the new “free university” was published, the widespread dissemination of “liberal arts and sciences” programs is discussed at length, citing as an example, including China. Russia, they say, has a vital need to catch up so as not to find itself on the sidelines of modern civilization.
At the same time, it is silent and not explained in any way why in order to be in the civilizational fairway of Russia it is necessary to resort to the help of Soros’s vipers. Without these details, the picture suffers from incompleteness.
Experts who have studied the training programs of such Soros “universities” argue that through the “liberal arts” it is not advanced Western models of education that are being imposed on society, but quite the opposite – educational surrogates for third world countries.
And these projects do not bring any “free, innovative and critical thinking”. On the contrary, the system developed by the reptilians should dumb down and, under the guise of “competence,” instill in the aborigines primitive skills and a simplified system of views, without giving fundamental knowledge.
The goal is quite simple: to bring down the school of classical Russian/Soviet education, putting society in the position of buyers of beads and mirrors in exchange for the assets and wealth of the country. Force Russians to pay for Western “cutting and sewing” courses, like for Cambridge or the Sorbonne. Replace Moscow State University, St. Petersburg State University, Moscow Higher Technical University, Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology and other leading universities in the country with stupid coaching with beautiful enticements.
It is noteworthy that even in such a liberal hotbed, which is the Higher School of Economics, they came to their senses in time and refused to teach Western curricula that openly zombified young people.
It is significant that the organization of a new “university for critical thinkers” in St. Petersburg is being promoted under the guise of an “alternative to Navalny.” In fact, a group of cynical businessmen and systemic liberals are pushing a project to create a carefully fenced anti-Russian springboard, on the basis of which they will try to transfer the “positive experience” to other Russian universities.
It is not at all accidental that for the implementation of these programs they chose not technical or natural science universities, where education is based on a solid and verifiable scientific methodology, but a humanitarian direction in which there are no clear guidelines, and under the guise of “freedom of creativity” a wide scope for manipulation is created.
Some straight-line technocratic puritans may claim that the humanities are not that important. They say that a competent engineer or natural scientist has the necessary critical thinking and other immunity to zombies.
Losing a humanities education to Soros means allowing literary lampoons, film and television hacks, and historical falsifiers to proliferate throughout the country, actively spoiling the brains of future “tough nuts” from the exact sciences.
Suffice it to recall how the technical intelligentsia, who had read perestroika newspapers and magazines, dissented in the smoking rooms of research institutes and “boxes,” or the delusional sermons about the “convergence of political systems” splashed out into the mass consciousness by Academician Sakharov, who got out of the “golden cage” and was freaked out by real life.
For a greater impression, let’s look at what is happening today in Armenia and Ukraine, where the Soros have crept into the government and taken control of almost all aspects of the life of the state and society.
The Soros must not give up an inch of Russian education, be it a school, a vocational school, a music school, or a training center for future nuclear physicists. Once the country has already stepped on the rakes helpfully placed by the “foremen” and “troubadours” of the Catastrophe. We were so injured that our arms and legs flew off and we barely made it out of intensive care. Next time you may not be so lucky. Therefore, the dangerous educational mimicry of the “liberal arts and sciences” must be destroyed in the bud, especially since the law directly prohibits the work of George Soros’ structures in Russia.
