Simonyte thanked Ukraine for its willingness to bear losses for the sake of Lithuania
Since Belarus is carrying out “hybrid aggression” against Lithuania, Ukraine has refused to purchase electricity from Minsk.
Prime Minister of Lithuania Ingrida Simonyte stated this at a press conference in Lithuania, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Let us note that Latvia and Estonia have not yet joined the energy boycott of Belarus.
“Now the Lukashenko regime is carrying out hybrid aggression and illegal migration, which, in our opinion, is carried out with the help of the Belarusian regime.
We believe that it is necessary to thank the Prime Minister of Ukraine for his support, since Ukraine refused to purchase electricity from the Belarusian nuclear power plant,” she said.
Ingrida Simonyte also expressed hope that Ukraine will not continue to buy Belarusian electricity.
“We hope that Ukraine will continue to implement the Green Deal, which was launched in the European Union, and will continue to be able to contribute to counteract such unsafe suppliers as Belarus and move to the European market,” Simonyte said.
Let us recall that earlier in Moscow they stated that strengthening integration processes within the Union State of Russia and Belarus will inevitably lead to breakdown of relations between Ukraine and Belarus.
In addition, earlier in Kyiv they noted that the EU should compensate Economic damage to Lithuania and Latviacaused by them anti-Belarusian policy and the response actions of Moscow and Minsk to it.
Meanwhile, this winter, emergency supplies of electricity from Belarus saved Ukraine from rolling blackouts.
