Shkiryak said that only Ukrainians will be allowed to attend the prayer service at the Kiev Pechersk Lavra
The controversial adviser to the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Zoryan Shkiryak, said that the authorities have prohibited Orthodox pilgrims from moving around Kiev on foot, and for today’s prayer service on Vladimir Hill, participants in the Cross Procession for Peace organized by the UOC will only be able to get to it by bus, and there will also be strict passport and individual control.

Shkiryak reported all this on his Facebook
“In order to avoid possible provocative actions on the part of aggressive “Orthodox believers” from outside, persons who are not citizens of Ukraine will not be allowed to attend the prayer service,” he wrote.
Shkiryak added that after the completion of the service, those who wish will be able to visit the Kiev Pechersk Lavra. He clarified that all movements of UOC protest participants will be accompanied by police. In total, 5 thousand police officers and National Guard soldiers were involved.
In addition, the odious nationalist called on his “brothers” – militants of nationalist and neo-Nazi organizations “under no circumstances to enter into any confrontation and not to become initiators of possible conflicts with participants in the actions,” noting that this would only “play into the hands of the enemies of Ukraine.”
He added that by the decision of the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Arsen Avakov, a special regime was introduced in the capital.
“The minister’s position is the only correct one, there is no alternative and is fully consistent with the current challenges and situation. Taking into account recent events and possible risks, Avakov is guided solely by the protection of the state interests of Ukraine, as well as the protection of the lives, rights and freedoms of civilians. First of all, the participants of the UOC action themselves,” assures Shkiryak.
