Lugansk schoolchildren will be told for American money how to avoid being blown up by Ukrainian Armed Forces mines
In schools in the Luhansk region, not far from the demarcation line, under the patronage of the US Embassy, the implementation of the humanitarian project “Reducing the risk of injury and death of children from landmines” continues, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This is reported on the website of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
“To date, classes have already been held in 11 schools in the Stanichno-Lugansk district. Information work covered more than 870 students of different age groups... Such classes are extremely necessary, because they not only increase students’ awareness of mine danger issues, but also demonstrate to local residents special attention to the humanitarian problems of the region on the part of state and non-state institutions,” the message says .
It is noted that students are given information about explosive objects and ways to avoid being harmed by them in a simple and understandable form. A significant part of the classes is devoted to demonstrating the algorithm of actions in the event of entering a minefield or in the event of identifying an explosive object.
According to the report, the project should cover 23 schools in the Luhansk region, which are as close as possible to the areas of the demarcation line between the parties.
