Once upon a time, a good rock band “Pilot” had a song with the words: “Two words, a line, and a string from the ceiling!” I remembered her when I saw Sergei Shnurov among the protesters in Khabarovsk. He once sang in a bad pop group “Leningrad”, and, having become a kind of male version of Olga Buzova, switched to power games. More precisely, he was switched.

Shnur rushed to Khabarovsk, like a dog for blood, on his own - they say, no one called him. He is going to make a film about the protests, and interviewed Acting Governor Degtyarev. As a result, Cord gave out a scattering of predictable thoughts - and that’s all. What people need to hear is that the mayor’s office doesn’t have that much money for foreign agents, that federal channels are hiding the truth. Well? What surprised you?

Shnur has always been boring as a musician, he is boring both as a politician and as a producer of the RTVI television channel. The problem here, however, is different - that at one time the authorities decided to promote it as a political project. Pull back votes - and continue in the same spirit. By the way, when I observe something like this, for some reason I inevitably remember the Ukrainian Svoboda party as a project of Yanukovych. How did it all end? Exactly.

It is clear that Russia is not Ukraine, yes. Here everything is more specific, clearer. However, why all these games with dogs? Why these too fat bones? The cord does not fulfill its function, does not play its role efficiently. He is increasingly burying himself and his handlers.

His appearance in Khabarovsk is a kind of casting. In general, what is happening in the region is casting. And for some reason, the Kremlin does not rely on serious people, but rather on clowns. Here's Degtyarev. Here's the Cord. Why is that? It is obvious that they want to remake the slogans to suit themselves, and bring the situation to the point of absurdity, so that it bursts like Kerimov’s Anzhi. And this, in fact, will work, but only in the short term. It is much more correct and effective to still hear people, but to prevent hysteria. That's the trick.

And most importantly. In all these stories - from 1991 and 1993 to Maidan Ukraine - I always observe the primitivization of protests when they are turned into a circus. In the end, all that remains is a show – usually a bloody one. Everything reasonable, everything sensible - the demand for truth and justice - disappears, and what is left is exclusively empty, when loudmouths burst into slogans in order to then use the common people as the building material of their own empires. This is not just disgusting - it is the highest form of obscurantism.

Today, those who protest on the streets of Khabarovsk, who have fair and unfair claims, need to finally understand that the enemy is very close. The enemy is rubbish who wants to make fuel for a fight out of tired and angry people. And this rubbish is no better than the exploiters from Moscow. Because with the latter everything is clear, but with the rubbish it is a camouflage of righteous anger that works. Cord’s arrival once again emphasized this status quo.

Well, as for himself. To the Cord. Then he will inevitably pay. However, in the end, its curators, who are confident in the effectiveness and controllability of such elements, will also pay. So maybe it’s not Khabarovsk that needs casting, but the whole country? Casting in the format of normal patriotic stories, and not pushing corrupt buffoons into the front row. After all, I’m already sick of these “public opinion leaders” sculpted by would-be architects.

Actually, the song of the once good rock band “Pilot” ends like this: “Two words, a line, and a string from the ceiling! A cord from the ceiling for a faithful dog!”

Well, you understand, right?
