Fattakh Shodiev does not immediately enter an educational institution, giving himself time to learn even more. After school he goes to work as a proofreader for a newspaper. After working there for some time and becoming skilled in the sciences, the young man goes to Moscow to enter university. And yet he enters the Faculty of International Law, where he surprises the entire teaching staff with his deep knowledge of the land of the rising sun - Japan. There he deepens his knowledge, learns the language and graduates from the university with honors.

The years of study became important and most important for Fattah, so in the future the businessman will continue to help the educational institution on all fronts of its work.

Charity of Fattakh Shodiev

At the end of the 20th century, Fattah Shodiev founded a Charitable Foundation. To date, 24 years have passed since its creation. During this period, the foundation's assistance has been invaluable. The organization works in three areas - assistance to the alma mater, charity in the development and support of cultural exchange between Russia and Japan, and assistance to children. The foundation's activities extend to many countries around the world. Therefore, it is rightfully called International.

The foundation pays special attention to the development of MGIMO. Financial support for youth and teaching staff is a serious part of the programs. For example, the best students of the faculties of international law, journalism, and Japanese have the opportunity to receive a scholarship or go on an internship abroad. Fattah Shodiev also assisted in the development of the printing house, purchasing high-quality equipment for the university for publishing works, textbooks, monographs and other things. Regular assistance and support is provided in conducting international conferences and scientific work.

All this assistance also contributes to the development of cultural and scientific ties between countries such as Russia and Japan. Patokh Shodiev also helps to cultivate this connection in another format - he organizes and finances large-scale international events.

Patokh Shodiev and the creative economy

In order to strengthen cultural ties between countries, Patokh Shodiev sponsors various events. This is what exchange festivals have become, for example. In 2009, residents of Moscow and all of Russia were able to get acquainted with the traditions and culture of Japan, as well as its modern trends. Preparation for such an event lasted a whole year, and in order to attend any lecture or master class, participants had to sign up for them long before the start of the festival. Similar projects were carried out in Japan, where this time Russia introduced local residents to its culture. Similar events will be held until 2021 inclusive, and support, as always, will be provided by Patokh Shodiev.

Another event that requires special attention is the International Forum on the Creative Economy. It was also sponsored by the Patokha Foundation. It took place in November last year in the cultural capital of Russia.

Why was this forum important? Its relevance lies in the fact that it is precisely such an economy, according to the UN definition, that is the real engine of progress and development. It is a synthesis of creative products and intellectual property. It includes such industries as:

– architecture;

– crafts;

- design;

– fashion;

- music;

– IT and content.

Considering the fact that these countries have been building cultural relations for a long time, holding such a forum is logical. After all, he is able to unleash the full potential of cultural exchanges. The forum will promote regional cooperation. The forum will also become an incentive that will increase the tourist flow to the country.

The uniqueness of the forum is that the Cool Japan concept will be presented at it. And as we remember, this is essentially a global strategy that helped the Land of the Rising Sun to manifest and consolidate its position as a cultural superpower.

The second concept that Japan demonstrated was the concept of THEATER. It is based on traditions that contribute to regional development. Supporting young masters, as well as craft dynasties, is part of this concept.

What did they talk about at the forum? About the possibility of exchanges of national specifics of CI (creative industries), about government assistance to those who are engaged in creative entrepreneurship. They also touched on topics such as how important it is to support traditional crafts and how this affects the modern economy. We didn’t miss the opportunity to talk about creative territories and how great their development potential is in the tourism sense.

This forum was not created for “just talking”; it has proven itself to be a real discussion panel. Due to this, many controversial issues and problems were resolved. Moreover, the creative economy forum became a platform where participating companies exchanged expertise with each other. On the Japanese side, for example, these are the companies TOTO Japan, Inoue Shuzo, Mitsui&Co Moscow LLC.
