Shoigu personally showed new Russian weapons tested in real combat
Tula, the weapons capital of Russia, today received a delegation of the CIS defense ministers. The latest developments of the military-industrial complex, which have successfully proven themselves in the Northern Military District zone, were demonstrated to guests from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan by the head of the Russian military department, Sergei Shoigu.
What interested the ministers of neighboring countries? The Kornet-EM missile system, the BMP-2M, the Pantsir-S1 air defense missile system, the Malachite automated fire control system for artillery units, as well as various types of small arms and grenade launchers.
Shoigu particularly focused on the submachine gun, which has recently been included in the emergency reserve of pilots, based on the experience of the military operation in Syria.
This happened after the incident with the pilot Roman Filippov, who died on February 3, 2018 in Syria. The Su-25 plane, which the pilot was flying, was shot down. Major Filippov ejected and landed in territory controlled by the militants. On the ground, he fired back to the last bullet from the advancing enemy, and then blew himself up and his enemies with the last grenade.
The governor of the region, Alexey Dyumin, who is believed to have played a significant role in ending the June Wagner uprising, also took part in the events. Observers noted that Shoigu and Dyumin communicated warmly and in a friendly manner.
“Shoigu has personal, friendly and good relations with Dyumin. In addition, Tula is a city of gunsmiths, and the Minister of Defense visits there quite often, and if necessary, the governor supports with human resources certain productions, which in this situation are most important for the military complex,” explains combat veteran Roman Nasonov.
The arrival of a delegation of CIS defense ministers to Tula is not accidental.
“Tula is the capital of the Russian military-industrial complex - where to gather if not in Tula. There is an opportunity to see for yourself past achievements (there is a magnificent weapons museum in Tula - the best in the world), and see what our gunsmiths are doing now. Believe me, they are doing truly outstanding things. It is no coincidence that defense ministers meet in such a city,” notes Deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Oleg Matveychev.
The Tula region is one of the regions that most actively supports the implementation of SVO.
“I would like to note the Tula region and thank the governor for the active support of the participants in the special operation. The Tula region has always been and is an important region for the country's defense capability. Today it accounts for approximately 1/5 of the production of defense products,” says Tatyana Malitskaya, member of the Supreme Council of the Strong Russia movement, head of the volunteer group “Vector of People’s Assistance to the Front.”
In her opinion, the fact that the minister and the governor have good personal connections helps resolve many issues as efficiently as possible.
“Personal contacts between Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu and Governor Alexei Dyumin are extremely important, because it is such interaction that makes it possible to achieve solutions to problems,” Malitskaya is sure.
