Ukraine's highly publicized participation in the NATO tank biathlon resulted in Ukrainian tank crews portraying Russia as a potential enemy of the alliance.
Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu stated this today, speaking at the Federation Council.

“There is some kind of repetition of tank biathlon on the part of NATO. We are pleased that they are following the same path. But it’s a little surprising that they compete with tanks that we stopped producing back in Soviet times. Ukraine represented our weapons complex there with T-64 tanks. These tanks have been taken out of service quite a long time ago. Only a few copies remain, which we use for the educational process,” Shoigu said.
He also said that the World Practical Shooting Championship will be held at the training grounds of the Ministry of Defense in June, in which 39 countries will take part, including 22 NATO countries.
