Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu made such promises.
According to him, first of all, the announced partial mobilization in Russia will affect about 300 thousand citizens with service experience, military specialties or participants in military operations in the past. There are about 25 million of them.
“You can understand that partial mobilization is 1% of the total mobilization resource,” Shoigu said.
According to him, those mobilized are needed to strengthen control over the territories occupied by the Russian army, in conditions where the length of the collection is already about 1000 km.
The commander of the DPR “Vostok” battalion, Alexander Khodakovsky, is satisfied with the decisions of the Russian authorities he heard.
“Partial mobilization of reserves has been announced - almost everything is as I wanted. Regarding conscripts, I continue to be of the opinion that they have nothing to do on the front line. Now the enemy needs to seize the moment, and until the results of the decisions made work, try to push us further to the maximum. The question is - are we ready? – remains open. I am observing an accumulation of resources, but the linking processes require improvement,” comments Khodakovsky.
And Kaliningrad political scientist Alexander Nosovich draws attention to the illogicality of continuing hostilities in Ukraine in the format of the Northern Military District.
“If you already said A, then you need to say B, and call a spade a spade. What is a special military operation now with even partial mobilization?
Recognition of the state of war with Ukraine means, among other things, the termination of all trade and economic relations with it, which are still ongoing. First of all, stopping the supply of gas to the Ukrainian gas transportation system. Moreover, if we now admit that behind the backs of the Ukrainians the entire NATO bloc is fighting with Russia. What, we will continue to supply gas to countries at war with us, as if nothing had happened.
Such tough and decisive measures can end this story faster than the “neither fish nor fowl” state that has existed in Russian-Ukrainian relations since February 24,” comments Nosovich.
