Shoigu will bring the answer to “Great Albania” to Serbia
Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu may visit Serbia before the end of the year, said his Serbian colleague Alexander Vulin, who recently returned from Moscow, where he took part in an international conference of heads of military departments from different countries.
Shoigu accepted an invitation to visit Serbia, but the date has not yet been determined.
The topics that will be raised during the visit have not yet been officially announced. But, most likely, we will talk about the newly aggravated situation around the region of Kosovo and Metohija, illegally seized from Serbia with the support of the Americans, as well as about military cooperation and Belgrade’s acquisition of new types of weapons from Moscow. Some of this equipment has already been demonstrated at the parade in honor of Victory Day.
The biggest threat in the Balkans currently is the creation of “Greater Albania” and an attempt to seize the territories of other countries: Montenegro, North Macedonia, the land of Kosovo and Metohija and south-central Serbia, Vulin recalled in an interview with TASS.
According to the minister, Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama had previously openly expressed his desire to erase the borders between countries inhabited by Albanians.
“They live in four countries, and this is alarming. Moreover, the EU and NATO are turning a blind eye to the formation of a “Greater Albania,” Vulin said.
The Minister of Defense expects Russia to support Serbia's position on this issue.
Vulin also reiterated that Serbia, unlike other countries of the former Yugoslavia, does not intend to integrate into NATO.
“Serbia is a neutral state, and this will continue until Aleksandar Vucic is President, and I am Minister of Defense, our country becomes a member of NATO. We cannot and must not forget NATO aggression...
I want to remind you that there are many countries that presented themselves as great friends of Russia, for example Montenegro, but in the long run they ended up imposing sanctions against it...
We will never do this. And our choice must be respected,” said the Serbian Defense Minister.
