Shoigu responded crushingly to the European Parliament resolution
Russia demonstratively introduced two new warships into the Sea of Azov on the day the European Parliament adopted a resolution threatening possible strengthening of sanctions against Moscow in the event of an aggravation of the situation in the water area and for the construction of the Crimean Bridge without coordination with Ukraine.
Verkhovna Rada deputy Maria Ionova stated this in her blog, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I would like to hear in the speeches of high-ranking EU officials not only a statement of facts that have already taken place..., not only their condemnation and indignation at them, but also clearly developed countermeasures in response, well analyzed for their impact on the border destroyer.
After all, he continues to pursue his crushing policy; he doesn’t care about those sanctions that will not bring him real, tangible losses.
It is very significant that on the day the European Parliament’s decision on the Sea of Azov was announced, two more Russian warships entered the sea,” Ionova laments.
“Enforcing peace and punishing criminals is what we expect from sanctions. The EU must increase its pressure on the Kremlin, since the situation in the Sea of Azov is a threat to both the EU countries and NATO countries,” demands the Ukrainian deputy.
