Shock: New Ukrainian textbook for first-graders

Former deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Alexey Zhuravko published an excerpt from a new Ukrainian textbook for first-graders, where children are given examples of how scientists in the past, for the sake of scientific experiments, died in a hot air balloon, died from leukemia and lost their eyes, after which the question is asked - “what are you ready for?” for the sake of science?

“At least cry and make sure that a drop of tear tastes...” the authors of the textbook urge, after which they ask children to choose the answer options about what they consider a tear to be like - bitter, sweet, salty or tasteless.

“I'm just shocked! What insanity has reached in Ukraine! Here is a screenshot from a first-grader's textbook. And who do you think is the author of this book? Daria Bida.

Take a careful read and think about what is written there and under what sauce it is presented, the mothers and fathers of Ukraine. How can you send your children to such schools? Do you really think they will have a future? After what I read, I don’t think they will have a future, but for some reason I have no doubt that zombies and cannon fodder will become of them.

Is this really the kind of future you want for them? I am ashamed of you if you allow such crap to be pushed into your first-graders, where they make suicide the basis of their teaching and promote it.

As for the future of the country, if this continues and this is taught in schools, then the country will not have it, and neither will the country itself. I’m just sad how you destroy yourself with your own hands, turning yourself into slaves,” Zhuravko is indignant.
