Hundreds of volunteers from European countries are fighting on the side of the DPR and LPR armies. The chief military prosecutor of Ukraine, Anatoly Matios, stated this on TV channel 112, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to him, Ukrainian security forces collected data on these volunteers and handed them over to the embassies, but they do not want to try them at home.
“We handed over lists of not only Serbs, but also all foreigners - Italians, Spaniards, Albanians and so on. There are a lot of them there. They are called companies, platoons. These are unstaffed companies, there may be 10-15 people there. But their total number is several hundred people. We handed this over to the embassy, these lists. The most important thing is that mercenarism on the territory of a sovereign state is punishable by the law of all states from which they come. But for some reason we have not heard any mass trials against these individuals,” said Matios.
