Showman Kondratyuk: Now Russian speakers will be afraid to speak their native language
After the end of hostilities, Ukrainians will have to forget Russia as a country for a long time.
Ukrainian showman, host of “Karaoke on the Maidan” Igor Kondratyuk said this on Radio NV, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Born in the Kherson region, Kondratyuk admitted that he had always been “one hundred percent Ukrainian” and even read Russian classics in translation.
“I am not so worried about the status of the Russian language in this country, because I am one hundred percent Ukrainian. I don't care whether he exists or not. As a result, as a child I read a lot of books by Russian authors translated into Ukrainian and only then realized that they were there in the original and you could read them too. But I don't care at all.
I can say that I am after a war against Russia, which we will certainly win, after which we will have to forget Russia for a long time as a country, and for a long time these relations will be severed. Those people for whom Russian is the language of communication since childhood, they will be afraid: “What will happen to us? Will we be able to speak this language?” Kondratyuk said.
Thank you!
