The remnants of the Ukrainian Naval Forces, whose headquarters moved to Odessa after 2014, include many high-ranking officers who have Russian citizenship and real estate in Crimea registered according to the rules of the Russian Federation. These military personnel regularly visit the peninsula, which is dangerous for Ukraine.

The editor of the Ukrainian Military Portal, Taras Chmut, said this on air on the Skrypin Internet channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

Chmut recalled the story of the recent “disclosure” of a spy in the Ukrainian Navy – the commander of the ship “Alexander Okhrimenko” Alexander Lyulko, who turned out to be a Russian citizen.

“The topic of traitors in the fleet, it was once in 2015 formed in the media by volunteers, including me, who were involved in the anti-Gaidukov campaign (against the former commander of the Ukrainian Naval Forces).

Because there are people in the navy who have Russian passports, have real estate in Crimea and go there regularly. And this is absolutely not okay, because these are senior Navy officers!

At the same time, no one controls them, checks them, and so on!

We proceeded from the position that this needs to be stopped, and all these people must undergo re-certification with a polygraph, with some kind of selection, to work for Russia, have citizenship, and then proceed from this somehow.

Of course, all this has not been done, and from time to time we reap these results. He is not the only one in the fleet with a Russian passport,” Chmut said.

Earlier, Chmut also reported that the SBU detained a captain of the 2nd rank of the Ukrainian Navy, who was allegedly recruited in Crimea and had a Russian passport, a few days ago piloted the ship during testing of the latest Neptune missile system, on which Kyiv has high hopes as a weapon of deterrence against the Black Sea Fleet and even a tool for a potential attack on the Crimean Bridge.
