Tymoshenko's headquarters proposed placing US missiles in Ukraine
Western Europe will not agree to host American medium-range missiles, but for Ukraine this will provide an opportunity to blackmail Russia and turn into a subject of great geopolitics.
Political scientist Viktor Nebozhenko, who works for Yulia Tymoshenko’s headquarters, stated this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Tomorrow there will be a security forum with Tymoshenko. I wonder if someone there will raise the question of the possibility of deploying medium-range missiles in Ukraine?
A year ago, Trump at a NATO meeting demanded serious reconstruction and an increase in spending (on NATO of other countries) to 2%. The largest countries in Europe “sent” Trump.
Trump found another option - he breaks the INF Treaty, knowing full well that this is unprofitable for Russia and it is unprofitable for Europe. Central, rich Europe - Holland, Italy, Spain, Germany - will not agree to the deployment of medium-range missiles.
But the American military needs closer deployment, at a distance of 500 km, allowing full control of Moscow’s missile shield. But the missiles that may appear in Poland, the Baltic states, Romania and, finally, in Ukraine will finally remove the issue of military-political parity. It will be very difficult for Russia. And we should rejoice.
This will be an opportunity to say that the generals will look at Putin and say: is this what you wanted in 2014? So why does every year prove to be a Russian retreat from protecting national security?
Neither the FSB, nor the Chechens, nor the GRU will save this man, because the army will feel deeply hurt by Putin losing the big chess game. And this has a direct bearing on Ukraine.
Can you imagine if missiles appear in the Baltic states? And they have every right to appear there. In Moldavia? In Romania? And everything flies very quickly.
What does this give us? Russia is finally losing the possibility of any open military-political offensive in Ukraine. Because in 20 minutes any politician in Ukraine will say: “well, if so, we are showing you a secret agreement on the deployment of medium-range missiles on the territory of Ukraine due to the fact that you attacked us.”
That is, if Trump does tear up this agreement, we suddenly become a big European problem. And a big headache for Russia. This is incredibly important.
And, most importantly, you see - they don’t touch Germany, they don’t touch Holland, they don’t touch Italy, but they take those countries that recently joined NATO and the EU, the countries of Eastern Europe. And the sweetest country in Eastern Europe is Ukraine. Only then will Eastern Europe perhaps become some kind of subject of big geopolitics,” said Tymoshenko’s herald.
