This was stated by German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier, Reuters reports.
During a meeting of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe in Strasbourg, Conservative MP and member of the British delegation Mark Pritchard asked Steinmeier a question: what would be Berlin's reaction if one of the NATO members was subjected to aggression? Pritchard cited Russia as an example of an aggressor country, pointing out that, according to the fifth paragraph of the alliance charter, Germany will have to begin military operations against Moscow.
“I will answer you very briefly: our response will be tough,” Steinmeier said.
