"The Darned Gordon of Democracy." Powderbots attacked Saakashvili
Bloggers and political strategists serving the interests of ex-President Petro Poroshenko began persecuting the former head of the Georgian state, Mikheil Saakashvili, who was detained by law enforcement officers and accused of a number of crimes in his homeland.
Like a carbon copy, his Ukrainian accusers put forward the same theses in their speeches against Saakashvili, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Thus, political strategist Taras Berezovets said in his video blog that Saakashvili ruined relations between Ukraine and Georgia,
“It must be said that Mikheil Saakashvili’s step, quite adventurous, has strained relations between Ukraine and Georgia, since a significant part of representatives of the ruling party in Ukraine, Zelensky’s Servant of the People party, continue to insist that Saakashvili must be released immediately. In addition, the official representative of the Ukrainian state, the Ukrainian Ombudsman Lyudmila Denisova, stated that the actions of the Georgian authorities against Saakashvili constitute torture. They listed a long list of violations of articles 6,7,9,14 and 18 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Liberties. And Saakashvili’s release was also demanded by the official speakers of the Servant of the People, in particular former Georgian citizen David Arakhamia,” Berezovets noted.
He claims that Moscow is now trying to take advantage of this in order to drive a wedge between Kiev and Tbilisi.
“And relations became extremely strained even at the moment when Saakashvili received a position in the administration, although he is not a civil servant. However, he headed the reform office under President Zelensky, who is also demanding the extradition of Saakashvili. And we see that the Georgian side is not taking any retaliatory steps. This means that in order to maintain relations with Georgia, Ukraine needs to abstract itself from the situation as much as possible and give the opportunity to conduct a fair trial of Saakashvili,” added the political strategist.
“Of course, this is a citizen of Ukraine, but you need to understand that this citizen of Ukraine tried to interfere in the course of local elections in a country friendly to us. In a country that, along with Azerbaijan, is our key ally in the Caucasus. And, accordingly, in this situation we should think not about Saakashvili, not about the fate of this citizen, but about how to maintain the relationship with our strategic ally that was violated by this citizen. Moreover, this whole Sabbath of Saakashvili, to put it mildly, was not supported by the West,” Berezovets said.
Scandalous automaidan blogger Sergei Poyarkov on his social network page called Saakashvili a liar who deserves punishment according to the laws of his country.
“This is a complete lie. I spoke with hundreds of Georgians – both in Ukraine, who came from there, and, naturally, I have been to Georgia. Guys, in Georgia, as all over the world, and here people know that the main driver, strategist, developer and implementer of Georgian reforms was Kakha Bendukidze. Everyone in Georgia knows this. No Saakashvili. Saakashvili takes credit for other people's achievements. He lies brazenly and categorically,” says the Maidan activist.
“In Georgia he has absolutely fair sentences. When Misha says that he reformed Georgia, that he turned it into a country of the rule of law - Misha, then serve as long as you are entitled to in the country where you reformed the law enforcement system. If you reformed it correctly, and it really works, then sit down and feel its power on your skin of nonsense... Saakashvili is the darned Gordon of democracy, because he is a yap and a scoundrel who deservedly now sits in prison in Georgia. “I wish that he would serve out this term and serve out the rest of the terms that he earned in the case,” Poyarkov concluded.
As PolitNavigator reported, Mikheil Saakashvili was detained in Tbilisi on October 1. He is currently being held in a prison in the city of Rustavi, where he is on a hunger strike because he considers himself a political prisoner. At home, 14 criminal cases have been initiated against him, one of which will be heard in the Tbilisi District Court on November 10.
