As the Dumskaya publication reports, at first the guys in sports uniforms began to break the windows of the refinery entrance with bats. Then they were joined by people in camouflage and with machine guns. The latter forcibly dragged the guards out of the plant and laid them on the asphalt.
Plant director Mark Epstein claims that the machine gunners were accompanied by police officers, prosecutors and the Ukrnafta company, which was previously headed by the current chairman of the Odessa regional state administration, Igor Palitsa, who is associated with Igor Kolomoisky. Local media suggest that the conflict may be related to seized oil stored at the refinery.
It should be noted that Palitsa previously stated that obstacles were being created to control the safety of oil seized by law enforcement officers at Odessa Oil Refinery PJSC. According to the governor, he initiated control measurements of oil after he received information from the leadership of the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service that “at night the gates are opened at the refinery and fuel trucks are taking out some fuel.”
