US President Donald Trump froze funds that the American side was supposed to transfer for military assistance to Ukraine. Politico writes about this, citing its own sources, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to the publication, the White House fears that the money previously allocated to Ukraine was used for other purposes. Trump ordered an audit. Interestingly, this decision was announced after the G7 summit held a few days ago, where the American leader “downplayed Moscow’s military intervention in Ukraine and insisted on Russia’s return to the G7.”
Russian political scientist Armen Gasparyan believes that the United States has long had reasons to fear about the fate of the funds allocated to Ukraine.
