Shufrich: The current NATO members stole our women and burned Ukraine
Ukraine cannot unite into one bloc with countries that fought with it in the previous 500 years of its history.
Verkhovna Rada deputy from OPZH Nestor Shufrich said this on the air of the talk show “Right to Power,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the politician, the issue of Ukraine's accession to NATO is not being considered by the Alliance and is a subject of bargaining with Russia.
“Please tell me, why should something that did not happen in 1000 or 500 years happen in five years or a year or two? History has its own inertia, it has its own logic. Let's look - 500 years, any period 500 years ago, let's see who we fought with. From Turkey to the Livonian Order in the Baltics. I'm not even talking about Romanians, Hungarians, Poles.
It so happened that all these countries that demanded our territories for 500 years in a row, interfered in our affairs, stole our women, burned Ukraine - they joined NATO. And those who opposed them all the time were never the first to attack them. They united in different forms of cohabitation, in different forms. Well, it’s true... And I know for sure that no one in NATO is waiting for Ukraine. Because Ukraine and the issue of joining NATO is a matter of bargaining with Russia behind Ukraine’s back, unfortunately. I am 100% convinced of this,” Shufrich said.
