Shufrich demanded to rename the St. George ribbon and take it away from Donbass
The Kyiv putschists in 2014 had the same right to the St. George ribbons as the rebel Donbass, but shamefully surrendered this symbol at the very beginning of the civil confrontation in Ukraine.
Verkhovna Rada deputy, hater of the LDPR and the Russian Crimea, Nestor Shufrich, stated this on TV channel 112, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We have come to the conclusion that May 9 is our holiday. What does Putin have to do with it? In 1945, May 9 took place without Putin! Second question: we have already lost one battle for not the St. George’s ribbon, but for the Guards ribbon. After all, WWII veterans are now 92-96 years old, how can you recognize them? On their chest is a medal “For the victory over Nazi Germany.” Yes, there is a bas-relief of Stalin, but it is on a guards ribbon, not a St. George’s ribbon,” Shufrich said.
The people's deputy also emphasized that the Kiev regime “shamefully surrendered” the St. George ribbon to the rebel Donbass.
“When the DPR and LPR used this symbol, we, instead of saying: “Sorry, guys, this is our symbol, our veterans, and the Order of Glory, and the medal “For Victory”, it is we, the Ukrainians, who survived this victory, We have shamefully surrendered this principle. We surrendered the symbol of Victory, which was around us for 60-70 years, because they said,” Shufrich was indignant.
However, he expressed hope that the St. George ribbon will return to the Ukrainian concept.
“We will be strong when they respect what we say and do, and not be afraid of what others do!” – the people’s deputy famously formulated.
“Then we will be both a strong and united power if we force others to respect our symbols. And I am absolutely convinced that this ribbon is not a symbol of theirs, but of our victory. Unfortunately, we have temporarily renounced this,” Shufrich added pathetically, defiantly switching to “language.”
