Shufrich claims that Aksenov and Konstantinov were almost “persuaded” to leave Crimea to Ukraine
Kyiv, June 03 (Navigator, Mikhail Ryabov) – At the end of February, Vladimir Konstantinov and Sergey Aksyonov were ready for the Ukrainian status of Crimea, but they were “scared off” by the decision of the Kyiv court to arrest the leaders of the autonomy.
Verkhovna Rada deputy from the Party of Regions Nestor Shufrich spoke about this on the Shuster Live talk show.

“On February 28, on behalf of the leaders of the faction, in agreement with the new leadership of the state, I met with Konstantinov and Aksenov. On the day when Zhirinovsky was there. Oddly enough, we found a road map and agreed with official Kiev on how to get out of this crisis. On Monday, there was an agreement to create an inter-parliamentary working group to actually return the 1992 Constitution of Crimea with minor changes. The names of the deputies who were to be included in this group were even determined.
What happened the next day? It was about 2 a.m. on March 1, I told this situation in Kyiv, including Turchinov. What happened this morning? I wake up around 10 am, I read: the court issued an arrest warrant for Konstantinov and Aksenov, sent the Ministry of Internal Affairs and a prosecutor there to establish the rule of law on the peninsula. We know what came of it,” Shufrich said.
In his opinion, today Kyiv is making a similar mistake by initiating the arrest of Oleg Tsarev.
Shufrich’s words were questioned by political scientist Vladimir Fesenko, who was present in the studio, and said that nothing depended on Aksenov and Konstantinov—decisions were made in Moscow.
