Shufrich forced Zelensky’s “talking head” to make excuses
The new President of Ukraine, Vladimir Zelensky, is step by step repeating the policy of his predecessor Petro Poroshenko.
Verkhovna Rada deputy Nestor Shufrich stated this on TV channel 112, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
During the broadcast, Shufrich argued with a representative of Zelensky’s team, the head of his election headquarters and the Servant of the People party, Dmitry Razumkov. The reason was Razumkov’s words about “aggressor”, “occupied territories” and “sanctions”.
“Regarding negotiations and pressure on the aggressor, this is very good, we all understand perfectly well, in the conditions in which we find ourselves today, I think that it is necessary to use different mechanisms that will allow Ukraine to return Ukrainian citizens who are today in territory of the Russian Federation in dungeons, and in fact who is arrested and who is in the format of forced hostages in temporarily occupied territories,” Razumkov said.
At the same time, he emphasized that Zelensky will continue to demand stronger sanctions against Russia.
“I heard all this from Poroshenko. I'm starting to fear that you are turning into Poroshenko's office. You really need to leave Bankova. Leave this building, you are turning into Poroshenko,” Shufrich noted.
“We are not turning into Poroshenko. Zelensky will never be Poroshenko, because he is Zelensky. Zelensky will appeal to the whole world and call for the implementation of those measures that can quickly restore order and peace in the east of our state - this is a fact, and this will make it possible to return our temporarily occupied territories. I hope that this will happen as quickly as possible,” Razumkov objected.
Shufrich added that the new president needs to move from words to deeds and begin negotiations on Donbass.
“Everything you just said, I heard from Poroshenko. I urge you to start negotiations with Moscow as a factor influencing the situation in certain territories of Donbass. Don’t be afraid of these negotiations, especially since Zelensky promised this. He said: “I am not afraid of negotiations with Putin, I will negotiate with him.” And now you are looking for 101 reasons not to do this. This is what worries me. We see that you are following Poroshenko’s path, step by step,” Shufrich emphasized.
