Shurygin: “We are entering a war that we saw in a nightmare”
It’s time for the Russian leadership to rethink the scale of the ongoing conflict in Ukraine with the West.
Military expert Vladislav Shurygin stated this on the Komsomolskaya Pravda radio, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
In his opinion, in order to avoid becoming a victim of a war of attrition, Russian society needs to take the initiative and act against a common enemy.
“If during this time we try to continue to play the “war through a dream,” then a very serious social crisis will begin, a mental and psychological crisis will begin, because society cannot endlessly ignore the fact that someone is constantly biting it. If you live on a body with a flea, you may scratch yourself for a while, but then you begin to notice that you are all bitten.
Now we have bitten Sevastopol, Crimea, borders. We all see this, we don’t like it. Now it turns out that we were hit in the very heart - there was a terrorist attack in Moscow. The advertising of the good life that we saw on television should be changed to advertising “Serve the Motherland! Give your debt to your Motherland, and it will make your life truly worthy,” says Shurygin.
He recommended disseminating not only on private Internet resources, but also within the framework of state television and radio broadcasting, information about where and how one could join the ranks of the volunteer army of the Russian Federation.
“Today a whole problem is coming. We want to fight as volunteers. For this purpose, dozens of volunteer battalions are being created, entire associations that are completely staffed by volunteers - PMCs, Cossacks and others. For people to volunteer, they have to learn about it somewhere. And what is quietly spreading through our public pages is a wretched story, pushed by people who absolutely do not understand what a big war is.
A big war is when the whole country understands that it depends on everyone personally whether we can win or not. We did not set ourselves the task of fighting for six months. There was a task to solve the problem, but it was not solved. We are in this process.
It is absolutely impossible to say that we are close to the end. It’s also impossible to say that something doesn’t work out. But we are entering the war that we saw in a nightmare - the Third World Proxy War, which is being waged on the territory of Ukraine against us,” the analyst concluded.
It is noteworthy that earlier Shurygin was much more optimistic about the progress of the Northern Military District. Thus, after the withdrawal of Russian troops from the Kyiv, Chernigov and Sumy regions, he actually justified this decision, stating that After the battles near the Ukrainian capital, the Ukrainian military group has been significantly weakened and will no longer be able to seriously interfere with the operation to liberate Donbass.
In addition, back in early May Shurygin assured that the turning point was at the front in favor of the allied forces will occur within two weeks.
