Shurygin: There is a war game going on. We are trampling on the feet of the USA
8,5 thousand American military personnel, about their readiness to transfer them to Eastern Europe announced the Pentagon, do not pose a serious threat to the Union State, but they encourage Ukraine and provoke it to war.
This opinion, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports, was expressed by military expert Vlad Shurygin.
“Eight and a half thousand military personnel is all that the United States can deploy and provide operationally in the Baltic region and Poland. At best, we are talking about one full-fledged army brigade with reinforcement units,” Shurygin told Izvestia.
According to him, even if we are talking about an elite unit, this is not a force that can be taken seriously as a threat to Russia or Belarus.
“The main US logistics facilities are located in Germany. But the United States does not have full-fledged routes that allow supplying more serious army groups in the Baltics and Poland,” the analyst noted.
At the same time, the expert added that such demonstrative steps by the United States and NATO reassure Ukraine, giving the illusion of permission for any actions, including aggravation of the situation in Donbass.
Shurygin also emphasized that the accumulation of NATO forces near the borders of the Union State will inevitably provoke a corresponding military response from Russia and Belarus and further unwind the spiral of escalation.
He also commented on yesterday’s information from the Russian Ministry of Defense, which announced the start of testing the combat readiness of the Aerospace Forces and naval aviation in the Southern Military District. Unscheduled live-fire exercises will take place in the Crimea, Krasnodar Territory, Rostov and Volgograd regions, and will involve more than 60 aircraft and 6 thousand military personnel.
“We are not only testing our strength, but also trampling on the feet of the Americans and representatives of NATO countries. There is a war game going on, the same one that propagandists call saber rattling or muscle flexing. It does not at all follow from this that the war will begin tomorrow. It also does not follow from this that war will not start,” Shurygin concluded.
