Shuster regrets that Russia cannot be bombed like Yugoslavia
NATO bombing of Yugoslavia was needed to end the civil confrontation, and if the situation in Russia was destabilized in the same way, a war of Eurasian proportions would begin.
TV presenter Savik Shuster said this in an interview with Ukrainian journalist Alesya Batsman, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The civil war in Russia is not a war that can be contained within Russia’s borders. It will also spread to Ukraine and the Baltic countries. This will be a very big war. I think the West is afraid of this, that this cannot be done peacefully, but by armed means it is fraught.
Because this is a war in Europe, this has not happened since 1945. The Yugoslav war is still a civil war. Yes, this is a conflict in which NATO was involved, and bombings, I understand everything. But this is a conflict between two large states. Is Ukraine in the center of Europe? So this is a war in Europe. This is not a war in Ukraine,” the TV presenter said.
“And if there is a civil war in Russia, this is, by and large, a civil war in Europe today. Both from the point of view of refugees, and from the point of view of victims, casualties and flows of weapons. It will be even more – a Eurasian war,” Shuster warned.
