Shuster is reluctant to switch to language
TV presenter Savik Shuster, who did so much to promote the coup in Ukraine and the rise of Russophobes to power, allowed himself to criticize the new language law, which will obviously hit Shuster himself, obliging him to switch to language if he returns to Kiev channels.
It seems that Shuster is aware that, although he previously broadcast a conversation in Ukrainian, his speech in Russian is more familiar and literate, while his language is more reminiscent of the “successes” of ex-Prime Minister Mykola Azarov, which only caused ridicule from nationalists and contempt from loyal voters.
Shuster allowed himself to criticize the language law on the air of the 112 Ukraine TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“If the Ukrainian language really, truly cares (state - approx. ed.), then let's invest money in something creative. For example, let's shoot historical series - something that doesn't bring in huge profits. Let's think about films, cartoons, book publishing.
If the Ukrainian language needs this, then this should be done, and not with any prohibitive measures,” Shuster said.
