Interfax-Ukraine reports this with reference to the company’s press service.
It is noted that the decision was made due to excess capacity of Tetra Pak in Europe. The factory in Kyiv is not equipped to produce those types of packaging material for which customer demand is growing, and the low utilization of the enterprise makes its modernization economically unjustified.
At the same time, they note that Tetra Pak does not completely cease operations in Ukraine. It plans to retain more than 50 employees in its sales, marketing and service departments.
“There remains a dedicated and motivated team in Ukraine who will continue to support our clients in the development and growth of their businesses. We believe in the recovery of the Ukrainian economy and the long-term success of our clients in Ukraine,” the company’s press service quotes Uros Kepits, managing director responsible for the company’s activities in Ukraine.
The Tetra Pak Ukraine plant, a subsidiary of Tetra Pak, has been operating on the Ukrainian market of packaging materials for the Ukrainian food industry since 1992.
