“This agreement is aimed at eliminating the risk of new conflicts in the Balkans and brings us closer to peace and mutual recognition,” Jacobson commented on his idea on Twitter. – After the end of the war (in Yugoslavia - ed.) it was difficult to find a path that would lead to reconciliation, as can be seen in the example of relations between Kosovo and Serbia.

There have been situations in recent years when we, who have been following developments in the Balkans, have been very concerned about the possibility of new conflicts arising. That's why it's important to see President Donald Trump and his administration, along with the governments of Kosovo and Serbia, moving forward in negotiations to normalize economic relations."

According to the Swede, trade and communication are one of the most important pillars of the transition from a “cold world to a warm one.” At the same time, Jacobson did not forget to include a passage about the future “recognition of Kosovo by Serbia.”

“If the signed agreement works as intended, trade and open personal relations will pave the way for a mutual peace agreement in which Serbia can recognize Kosovo, ending this protracted conflict,” concluded the initiator of the appeal to the Swedish Academy of Sciences, which awards the Nobel Prizes.
