The expert emphasized that Russia will remain a great power as long as it includes Siberia.

“All our lives, Western Europe, first of all, then the Germans, dreamed of the storehouses of Siberia. Until now, why is Russia, not even China, but Russia, an enemy for the West? They realized that Siberia remains the pearl of Russia. And if Russia did not have Siberia, it would not have been a great power after the Soviet Union.

As long as it retains Siberia and other resource regions, it remains a great power in whatever state it may be - under Yeltsin, under early Putin, under late Putin. This has always attracted the West,” Karasev said.
