Signal for Poroshenko: Avakov brought his militants to the center of Kyiv
In the evening, in Kyiv there was a march of militants of the “National Corps” controlled by the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Arsen Avakov, the political wing of the Azov National Battalion. The action attracted about 1000 people, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Today you will see the Force that will be used against the enemies of the Ukrainian Nation. Azov Movement is going on the offensive - 2019 will be the year of our victory!” – said in the announcement of the event.
It is interesting that at the same time Avakov released a statement regarding the “fair conduct” of the upcoming presidential elections. As you know, the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs is reasonably suspected of playing against Petro Poroshenko.
Avakov said that the police will supposedly maintain neutrality and prevent falsifications.
The day before, reports appeared in the Ukrainian media about the preparation by Poroshenko’s headquarters of a large-scale network for buying up votes for the purpose of re-election for a second term.
The media also reported that militants from organizations supervised by Avakov and Poroshenko would en masse register as “observers,” which would make it possible to use force at the required polling stations.
“Ukrainian society will not accept the victory of a presidential candidate who won through fraud. Dubious, murky schemes for acquiring votes in elections will not give victory in elections,” Avakov said in a statement.
“There is a high degree of tension in society, which will grow until April 21, the date of the second round. There will be enough people willing, both inside the country and outside, to stir up these sentiments and, in the event of an unfavorable election result, throw a match to provoke possible forceful confrontations and disruption of public order,” the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine also warns.
