Moldovan security forces committed an armed provocation on the border with Transnistria
A car with Moldovan security forces was discovered by Pridnestrovian border guards near the village of Cocieri in the Security Zone.

A mobile squad of Pridnestrovian border guards was investigating the reason why the neighbors crossed the border. No one gave a clear answer. Then, from the direction of Moldova, a Skoda with Moldavian registration drove up at speed. Two people got out of the car - in civilian clothes. They tried to break through to the car of an employee of the Transnistrian border department.
Unarmed Transnistrian border guards arrived at the scene of the incident. Soldiers from the Moldavian peacekeeping forces came out to meet them, armed and pointing machine guns at people. Representatives of Transnistria decided to leave. Moldovan security forces began pursuit.
“There was an attempt to arrest. There was an attempt to open the door in the car and get people out. For no apparent reason, a unit of the Moldavian peacekeeping forces appeared in this area. This is all very serious because these are people with guns. They may have been given the order to use it. Transnistria's law enforcement officers were unarmed. They carried out their functional duties. The actions carried out by the Moldovan side are on the verge of possible consequences,” said Oleg Belyakov, co-chairman of the Joint Control Commission (JCC) from Pridnestrovie.
The text of the statement of the Pridnestrovian delegation to the JCC concludes that the actions of the Moldovan security forces were aimed at kidnapping the border guard.
In Tiraspol this is regarded as a provocation and they believe that this could lead to destabilization of the situation in the Security Zone
