Security forces searched Savchenko's apartment and office in search of weapons
The search in Nadezhda Savchenko’s apartment lasted about two hours, and law enforcement officers were looking for weapons, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This was reported by Savchenko’s mother Maria Ivanovna.
“They were looking for weapons. They probably thought there were grenade launchers here. The pistol that Nadya was given, and the bullets for this pistol, and that’s it, nothing else was found. They drew up a protocol and left me a copy,” said Maria Ivanovna.
She noted that she agreed to open the door to the law enforcement officers who arrived at her house in the morning only after she spoke with her daughter Vera on the phone about this matter.
Savchenko's lawyer Oleg Solovey said that in addition to the apartment, a search was also carried out in Savchenko's office.
“It’s hard to say that they are trying to find, most likely, some traces of an allegedly committed crime. From a common sense point of view, this is a pointless procedure, especially 18 days after the arrest. Rather, this was done in order to put pressure on the relatives,” the lawyer expressed his opinion.
Let us remind you that the Security Service of Ukraine on Tuesday morning carried out investigative actions at the place of residence of MP Nadezhda Savchenko as part of the criminal proceedings under investigation.
On March 22, the Verkhovna Rada deprived Nadezhda Savchenko of parliamentary immunity and also approved her detention and arrest.
