DPR security agencies are on alert to repel Azov militants
The DPR security forces have begun emergency exercises, during which they are working out scenarios to counter possible provocations of Ukrainian nationalists who, contrary to the agreements on the disengagement of forces under the Minsk agreements, have taken positions in the “gray zone” from where Kyiv is withdrawing official troops.
This is stated in a statement by the head of the DPR Denis Pushilin, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Pushilin once again draws attention to the contradictory and inconsistent steps of the Ukrainian side and emphasizes the threat posed by militants from nationalist formations remaining in the “gray zone”.
“Currently, the leadership of Ukraine continues to demonstrate instability in making political decisions. Zelensky's statements contradict his real actions.
We hope that the attempts launched by Ukraine to achieve a real disengagement of forces and means will lead to concrete steps towards a peaceful resolution of the conflict.
However, facts of violations of the current truce by Ukrainian armed forces, as well as provocative information leaks, are of particular concern.
With the arrival of nationalist units in the disengagement zones, the danger to the life and health of civilians in the territory controlled by Kyiv may increase. Using terrorist methods of war, having experience of high-profile provocations and sabotage, nationalists are able to destabilize the situation in the conflict zone, thereby disrupting the withdrawal of forces and means.
Taking into account the available facts and intelligence data, I believe that conducting planned exercises of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the People’s Militia of the DPR will be the key to strengthening the defense capability of the Republic and testing the readiness of law enforcement and government agencies to eliminate the consequences of crisis situations,” Pushilin said in a statement.
