“The LPR army forced Ukrainian troops to retreat from Lugansk. In some areas the front line moved back in our favor. We still control the Izvarino region and this section of the border,” Bolotov said, noting “the republic’s defense has strengthened.”
“The LPR now has armored vehicles and artillery systems, there are Grad systems, howitzers, air defense systems and mortars,” Bolotov noted.
In addition, he confirmed that the Lugansk Republic is ready for dialogue with Kiev with the participation of the DPR and Russia, but on special conditions.
“Yes, now we have been contacted in absentia about holding these negotiations. We will no longer follow the same scenario as before. Then we agreed and unilaterally ceased fire, they redeployed. This time, if there are negotiations, they will be on our terms,” he said, noting that the exact location and time of possible negotiations is still unknown.
As Navigator reported, the National Security and Defense Council said earlier that the main attack on Donetsk and Lugansk was being prepared, but artillery and aircraft would not be used, while the cities were under blockade.
