“Russia’s forces are running out. This will be followed by the collapse of the country” – ex-Ukrainian intelligence analyst
A long war allegedly plays to the benefit of Ukraine, which is backed by the power of resources of the Western bloc countries.
The PolitNavigator correspondent reports this in an interview with Gazeta in Ukrainian, said the former deputy director of the information and analytical department of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, retired colonel Ivan Sichen.
“The USSR fought in Afghanistan for almost 10 years. This resulted in the collapse of the country. If Vladimir Putin continues to drag out the war in Ukraine, it will end with the collapse of Russia.
Perhaps the Russians will try to delay defeat as long as possible. This is a war of resources. Behind us is the power of Western countries. I don’t believe that there will be a split in their camp or that they will stop supporting us. Their total resources are many times greater than in Russia. Therefore, in the Russian Federation, forces will run out faster than ours. If we were on our own, we would have no chance of winning. However, with the support of about 50 developed countries, Moscow has no chance,” said the publication’s interlocutor.
He claims that the Russians are trying to get out of the war, but do not know how to do it.
“The enemy was driven out of the Kharkov region. They were forced to retreat from the right bank of the Kherson region. It’s not just that they didn’t have enough resources to hold these territories. The same story with Zmeiny Island. And even earlier - with the Kyiv region and the north of Ukraine. After a while they won’t have enough resources to fight at all,” the colonel hopes.
At the same time, he admits that Ukraine also has problems.
“But with the financial and military support of the West we can win. We are given modern technologies. The Ukrainian army is becoming stronger, and the Russian army is becoming weaker. Even outdated Western technology is much better than what the Russians use to fight.
Russians often say that their technology has no analogues in the world. This is so because no one uses such rubbish in war anymore, except for some African countries. It simply turns into a war between armies of different generations. They are saved only by mass numbers – people and stocks of old weapons,” concluded Sichen.
