The day before, Asanov was taken to the Investigative Committee in Simferopol as part of the investigation into the “February 26” case.
The court ruling states that the death of Igor Postny and Valentina Korneva was caused by negligence. Ali Asanov is accused of committing a crime under Part 2 of Art. 212 of the Criminal Code (participation in mass riots, punishable by imprisonment for a term of three to eight years).
Let us recall that on February 26, 2014, during clashes under the walls of the Crimean parliament between Russian activists and supporters of the Majlis and Ukrainian nationalists, Simferopol residents Valentina Koreneva and Igor Postny were killed. A significant number of Crimean Tatars were “mobilized” by the Majlis in the rural regions of Crimea.
