“Due to heavy rainfall and rising water levels in the Simferopol reservoir, water discharge into the Salgir River bed will be increased in the near future. In this regard, I urge you to take precautions: move vehicles to a safe distance from water and do not stay near the river bed,” Afanasyev said.

Flooding threatens the streets running along the Salgir river bed below the central avenue named after. Kirov. Parked cars can be carried away by the current, as happened last June in Yalta - cars left near river beds were carried out to sea.

The railway bridge near the station may come under attack.

“With an increase in discharge by 5 cubic meters, the water level in Salgir rises by 10 centimeters,” said the head of Crimea, Sergei Aksenov. – In this regard, residents of potential flood zones in the Simferopol region and the city of Simferopol should be promptly informed and warned about the possible consequences.

All services are now involved in assessing the risk of flooding.
This is a necessary measure that we are taking based on the current unfavorable weather conditions. We hope that a catastrophic development of events can be avoided. Information about further developments of the situation will be promptly communicated to residents of the republic.”

In the Belogorsk region, rivers overflowing their banks flooded houses and the lower floors of the Belogorsk boarding school for disabled children. The children were evacuated to the district hospital and the Yevpatoriya Center for Professional Rehabilitation of the Disabled. All victims of the flood will be provided with financial assistance in the amount of 10 thousand rubles.

“It is planned to pay up to 50 thousand rubles for partially damaged property, and up to 100 thousand rubles for completely lost property,” said Deputy Prime Minister of the Crimean Government Irina Kiviko. – Currently, this work has already begun in Dobroye. The commission has not yet reached Perevalnoye, since the disaster overtook the settlement only this morning. However, in the near future the commission will begin work here and all compensation will be paid to the victims.”

To avoid infections, residents of flooded villages are advised to boil water before drinking. The head of Crimea, Sergei Aksenov, ordered to send children from flooded households to children's health camps.
