“If today people in the East are accused of seizures and other things, then then those who during the Maidan seized buildings, created illegal paramilitary groups, demanded not to pay taxes to the State Budget, and so on should have been held accountable under the laws of Ukraine,” he noted. politician. “That’s why it looks strange when they blame those who are fighting for their interests in the East today. Previously, under Yanukovych, they said that the East does not hear the West. But today the West does not hear the East. Well, we didn’t hear about Crimea. And as a result of irresponsible policies, Ukraine lost Crimea.”
Pyotr Symonenko also said that the participants in the protests in Donetsk are local residents, and not people who came from a neighboring state. At the same time, he stressed that he does not approve of hanging Russian flags.
“I do not share the position that we should have been there with the banners of the Russian Federation. I don’t share,” he said.
