Simonov: Europeans resort to gross violations of their laws in the fight against Russian gas
European courts operate with the concepts of “energy solidarity” to make anti-Russian decisions, although there is no such norm in any international document.
The General Director of the National Energy Security Fund, Konstantin Simonov, stated this at the Valdai Club site, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“When in the summer of this year the European court made another decision on the OPAL gas pipeline, again returning it to 50 percent of filling, citing the fact that the OPAL gas pipeline does not comply with “energy solidarity”, what is “energy solidarity”, in what law Is this thesis spelled out? Unknown. But the European Court makes this decision. This is very strange for European law enforcement, and you call this a lack of policy?
Next we go according to the decision of the German Federal Network Agency: an application is submitted, it is considered for 2 months, and then they say: “We have decided here, and you need to register a German subsidiary in 2 months.” Yes, of course, everything is fine, you need to register and then you can work in the 12-mile coastal zone, despite the fact that the German Federal Network Agency does not say that the application violates European law,” he said.
In addition, the expert noted that European ministers constantly demonstrate their ignorance of European legislation.
“A few days later, the German Foreign Minister says: “The application violates European law, there is no ANBangle (a system of internal corporate reorganization designed to separate businesses: mining, supply, transportation - approx.)”
Listen to why your ministers don’t know European laws, go to events and learn the word ANBangle, use it when necessary and not necessary. Why do European ministers allow themselves to say things that betray their complete ignorance of European legislation?” – Simonov concluded.
