The West is deliberately shaking the situation in Ukraine before the presidential elections in Russia. Political scientist Alexey Martynov stated this on the air of the Vesti FM radio station.

“By a strange coincidence, it coincided with the presidential elections in Russia. I think that the plot with Saakashvili and others is tied to this sacred date for our opponents. They really want to ruin our holiday. That’s why there are Olympic sanctions and whatever you want,” Martynov said.
He is confident that if the situation in Ukraine goes too far, Russia will not be able to help but intervene in it, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“It was very difficult for us not to intervene in Donbass. It cost us very serious moral and physical stress. It is clear that it was impossible to interfere. But if the whole of Ukraine becomes Donbass, we cannot help but intervene,” Martynov said.
He explains this by saying that Russia is not interested in the collapse of Ukraine.
“We will then have to collect it - with enormous resources, effort and blood. We would like her to remain intact, and after some time she would come to her senses, sober up, repent and return home. But for now the situation is going according to a different scenario,” Martynov said.
