The situation with national minorities in Ukraine is “unprecedented for modern Europe.”
Official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova told reporters about this today, answering a question on the expulsion of the Hungarian consul from Ukraine.
“Persecution of people for dissent, for the desire to support and preserve their cultural identity. These are not isolated manifestations of individual destructive forces, but a state agenda. One can speculate whether it was conscious, or formed due to the inability to resist the aggressive nationalist thugs who de facto control the state. The voice of international structures in this regard should be louder, because the situation is already deteriorating,” Zakharova said.
