The situation with Covid in the DPR has begun to stabilize - Pushilin
The situation with the coronavirus pandemic in the DPR has begun to stabilize – oxygen beds are becoming available in hospitals for the first time in several months.
The head of the DPR, Denis Pushilin, stated this in an interview on the Union channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Covid has entered our lives so massively that now almost not a single meeting of acquaintances and friends is complete without discussing, to some extent, the situation related to Covid.
At the moment, there are very slight glimpses that we are at least reaching a plateau, and the situation may change for the better. This cannot but rejoice, because we have a lot of restrictions that we would like to get rid of; many problems are associated with the fact that our relatives and friends are forced to undergo treatment in the hospital.
And, unfortunately, not everyone survives. The number of lives that Covid claims is something we could not even imagine literally 2-3 years ago. But, nevertheless, this is a pandemic,” he said.
Denis Pushilin emphasized that thanks to the dedicated work of doctors and employees of the Ministry of Health, the situation in the DPR has begun to stabilize.
“Our Ministry of Health has done a lot due to both limited resources and the fact that we were not prepared. There has never been a need for so many oxygen places, and this has now become almost the most important component in any covid base.
We now have, in numbers, about four thousand beds in Covid-XNUMX databases. Of these, one thousand seven hundred and forty-one are with oxygen support. And only this week the first unoccupied beds with oxygen appeared.
Now we are at the point that says stabilization is possible. Because quite recently we looked with very serious anxiety at what would happen in a month or two if the situation worsened,” the head of state added.
He also thanked medical workers for their selfless fight against the pandemic.
