The situation in the Sea of Azov will worsen
Kyiv constantly stages provocations in the Sea of Azov, but it will not come to a direct clash with Russia at sea.
Ex-Verkhovna Rada deputy, former head of the Committee on National Security and Defense of Ukraine Georgy Kryuchkov wrote about this in his blog, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the politician, there will be no detente between Russia and Ukraine in the near future.
“I think that the situation around the Sea of Azov will only get worse. Threats will be exchanged, and then concrete steps will be taken to implement them. Tensions will escalate. I think it won’t come to war, but they will get on each other’s nerves greatly. Everything is only leading to aggravation, not to resolution. In addition, Putin said that it is impossible to find a common language with the current Ukrainian government. This is a very serious signal, indicating that no changes for the better can be expected in the coming months,” Kryuchkov said.
Earlier, Federation Council Senator Franz Klintsevich said that the Russian Federation could block the Sea of Azov in a matter of minutes for the movement of any Ukrainian watercraft.
