Russia is successfully using the necessary mechanisms of pressure on Kyiv to prevent the escalation of the conflict in Donbass.
Political observer Irina Alksnis spoke about this on the Politwera channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

I said that I did not believe that there would be any military provocations in Donbass, that there would be a military escalation. It’s just that all this is too important for Moscow. She has a mechanism that can be used against Kyiv to prevent this. Laugh and laugh, but the further we observe, the worse the situation with the Sea of Azov for Ukrainians becomes. After the detention of our fishing vessel, they do not know that regular inspections of vessels are now taking place. There are already indignations and some plans that they should be punished, but they can’t do anything,” the expert said.
“And this is just one small factor. Russia has plenty of such trump cards in its pocket. That is why, I think, they were put on full alert and many levers were used so that Kyiv would not even think about aggravating the situation. And I don’t believe that anything will happen before the meeting with Trump,” she explained.
