The United States has once again released a hypocritical report on human rights violations in the world, where all countries that Washington dislikes are condemned and allies are whitewashed.

Official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova announced this during a briefing, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“The US State Department recently released another report on the human rights situation in the world. In our opinion, the United States should already devote such reports to itself, but for now they are still concentrating on affairs in other states.

A quick look at the rather voluminous, but, by and large, empty document, and the part that is dedicated to Russia, leaves a strong feeling of déjà vu. As happens from year to year, it is imbued with double standards in assessing the situation with human rights in various states, which are very cynically divided into “good” and “bad” - depending on whether they follow the strategic guidelines of the United States or have their own an idea of how they should live and develop.

A circle of “penalty” countries has been announced; a set of clichéd claims against them is easy to predict even without reading the report. It is simply impossible to treat without irony the statement that the US Administration will counter human rights violations wherever they occur, regardless of whether the perpetrators of these violations are US partners or adversaries.

I believe that first of all they need to take care of their own departments in the United States - the Pentagon and other security agencies. What are they doing all over the world, which leads not to isolated cases of human rights violations, but to global ones,” she said.

Maria Zakharova also appreciated the mirror report on human rights in the United States published by the PRC.

“Our attention was drawn to the report published by the State Council of the People's Republic of China on human rights violations in the United States in 2020 - this is really a document. There are no clichés, but factual statements that convincingly demonstrate that the situation in the United States is out of the control of the authorities.

Aggravating factors were the massive spread of coronavirus infection, political unrest, interethnic conflicts, and aggravated social divisions in society.

By the way, what’s interesting is that the United States does not conduct such a global review of human rights in relation to itself. But at the same time, in political rhetoric, when it is necessary, based on the conjuncture of the moment, they constantly talk about the split of their own society, about the violation of human rights. But for some reason they don’t take this to the international level. In general, it’s interesting to watch them,” the Foreign Ministry representative summed up.
